We are currently seeking a Senior Network Systems Engineer in Rensselaer County, NY
.

Schedule: 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday

Pay: $56.26–$70.19/hr, depending on experience

Duration: 6 months with potential for extension or conversion

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise network and infrastructure systems, including LAN, WAN, WiFi, PBX, and data center environments.
• Ensure high availability, optimal performance, and security across all infrastructure systems.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex network and infrastructure issues.
• Execute hardware, operating system, application, and security updates/patching, including OS hardening initiatives.
• Plan and implement infrastructure upgrades, expansions, and capacity improvements.
• Maintain compliance with security policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Promote and adhere to safe work practices and safety awareness initiatives.

• Minimize operational downtime through effective troubleshooting and rapid issue resolution.
• Manage vendor relationships, contracts, support agreements, and service performance.
• Participate in an on‑call rotation and coordinate after‑hours infrastructure maintenance activities.
• Support IT hardware deployments and troubleshooting efforts for network and storage equipment.

• Lead infrastructure and network‑related projects from planning through execution and delivery.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, resources, and deliverables to align with business objectives.
• Ensure successful implementation of infrastructure initiatives within scope and schedule.

• Build strong partnerships with internal IT teams and business stakeholders.
• Coordinate cross‑functional technology implementations and infrastructure changes impacting users or services.
• Provide regular reporting on infrastructure performance, security, and capacity metrics.
• Deliver both formal and informal presentations on technical topics and project updates.

• Assist in managing infrastructure operational and capital budgets.
• Provide strategic insight into future infrastructure needs and budget planning initiatives.

• Drive process improvements, operational efficiencies, and IT best practices across the infrastructure environment.
• Research emerging technologies and develop ROI‑driven recommendations and implementation strategies.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in network and infrastructure management
• Strong knowledge of enterprise networking technologies, systems administration, and infrastructure operations
• Experience supporting secure, high‑availability environments in regulated or enterprise settings preferred
• Excellent troubleshooting, project management, and communication skills
