Overview
The New York State Office of Information Technology Services (ITS) provides operational support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, supporting more than 4,900 applications for 53 New York State Agencies.
ResponsibilitiesUnder the direction of the Information Technology Specialist 4 within the Chief Technology Office, Enterprise Network Services, Voice Operations group, the Information Technology Specialist 2‑Hourly will assist with the management of the Business Processing workload, involving a high volume of Telecom Vendor Accounts. The position will help ensure the team meets contract compliance standards.
- Work with the WAN program team to develop and implement ITSM workflows for the Business Processing Team to receive tasks to provide appropriate vendor billing details for new installs, and to do a bill review of resulting inventory and invoice updates modifies and disconnects of circuits to ensure billing is in sync with active/inactive inventory.
- Data analysis of existing WAN circuit inventory for irregular alignment to BATS billing accounts to correct, and study for automation opportunity.
- WAN Automation analysis to target automation opportunities in surrounding systems.
- Supporting BATS Automation Modules and the required multi‑system data analysis, to identify opportunities for improved user experience, expected to lead to increased productivity and efficiencies of high‑volume workload.
- Multi‑System Automation development through flowing monthly vendor data, for SFS, BATS and ITSM, supporting the flow of operational services inventory and financials in the form of structured and unstructured resulting billing data and required data auto.
- Open Competitive: A bachelor’s or higher‑level degree including or supplemented by 15 semester credit hours in computer science.
- OR A bachelor’s or higher‑level degree in any field and one year of experience in information technology.
- OR 60 semester credit hours including or supplemented by 15 semester credit hours in computer science and one year of professional experience in information technology.
- OR Two years of professional experience in information technology.
- Promotion:
Open to NYS employees with one year of permanent competitive service as an Information Technology Specialist 1, Salary Grade (SG) 14. - Transfer:
Open to NYS employees with one year of permanent competitive service as an Information Technology Specialist 2 or Information Technology Specialist 2 Programming, SG‑18; or in a title SG‑16 or above deemed administrative under Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law. - 55b/c Appointment:
This position is eligible for 55b/c designation and candidates are encouraged to apply. - Appointment is contingent upon obtaining and/or maintaining New York State residency within six months of hiring.
- Appointment is not final until all agency approvals have been granted.
