Scope of Project:
The NYS Department of Labor is seeking an Expert Cloud Engineer to support the UISIm (Unemployment Insurance Service Improvement) project. The selected consultant will support operational activities, enhancements, debugging, cloud-native application deployments, infrastructure automation, cloud platform administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and cloud optimization utilizing Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain cloud-based systems in GCP.
- Build and deploy cloud-native applications using Cloud Build and Cloud Deploy.
- Build and manage the GCP foundation platform.
- Engineer solutions using Terraform Infrastructure as Code.
- Integrate, configure, deploy and manage cloud services.
- Configure VM and Cloud SQL backups and restores.
- Build and support CI/CD and continuous testing activities.
- Monitor cloud systems and troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Optimize cloud resource utilization and costs.
- Mentor State staff in cloud technologies.
Required Qualifications:
- 84 months of experience designing, developing, deploying, monitoring, and maintaining cloud-based systems in GCP.
- 84 months of experience implementing, automating, and administering GCP cloud infrastructure.
- 36 months of experience using CI/CD pipeline technologies.
- 36 months of experience using Git Hub repository.
- 24 months of experience using Prisma Cloud, Tenable, OS Patching/upgrading.
