Job Description
The Massry School of Business at the University at Albany is a dynamic, research-driven institution within a flagship public research university. We are AACSB-accredited in both business administration and accounting – a distinction held by fewer than 2% of business schools worldwide. The School houses cutting‑edge research centers, including the Center for Institutional Investment Management (CIIM), the Center for Advancement & Understanding of Social Enterprises (CAUSE), and FACETS, a hub for analytics and systems security research funded by agencies such as NSF, IARPA, and NIST. The Information Systems and Business Analytics Department invites applications for a non‑tenure‑track Visiting Assistant Professor of Information Systems and Business Analytics position, beginning Fall 2026.
This is a one‑year temporary appointment with possible extensions up to two additional years, subject to successful review and university approval. The position carries a 3/3 teaching load and includes both in‑person and online teaching responsibilities in our undergraduate, MS in Business Analytics, MS in AI in Business, and MBA programs. Courses may be related to business systems applications, including information systems design and development, business analytics, visualization, AI, databases, and statistics.
Responsibilities
- Teach courses as assigned by the Department of Information Systems and Business Analytics.
- Provide service to the Department of Information Systems and Business Analytics.
- Reports to the Information Systems and Business Analytics Department Chair.
- Demonstrate the ability to develop inclusive and equitable relationships within the diverse campus community.
- Demonstrate the ability to support diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and belonging in relation to the role.
- A doctoral degree (e.g., Ph.D.) in Information Systems, Operations Research, Decision Science, Applied Analytics, or a closely related field from an AACSB‑accredited college or university, obtained by August 21, 2026.
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness in different modalities (in‑person, asynchronous, synchronous).
- Experience teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Experience designing and implementing experiential learning activities in the classroom.
- Experience as a designer or developer of business information systems.
- Typical office and classroom environment.
