Project/Program:
Department of Labor’s (DOL’s) zOS Mainframe System.
Job DescriptionDepartment of Labor’s (DOL’s) zOS Mainframe System.
NYS DOL support in a multi-vendor, multi-protocol complex network/systems environments. Primary point of contact for zOS Operating Systems.
- Perform problem determination and resolution.
- Participate in Disaster Recovery tests.
- Participate in On-call rotation.
- Perform Security Healthchecking.
- Participate in Audits.
- Participate and as required manage activities related to the installation, customization and management of the zOS operating system.
- Coordinate activities with support staff to ensure appropriate support is provided.
- Proactively monitor networks working with the Enterprise Network teams and developers to identify, manage and correct issues.
- Work independently to diagnose and correct problems as they arise within the system.
- Mentor state staff.
- Monitor CICS regions.
IT Specialist–Works in the field of Information Technology, experienced in the usage and support of a collection of development platforms, technical architectures or business applications and products that run on those platforms - beyond that of a Programmer.

Candidate is able to provide guidance to large teams and/or has extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of his/her field.
- 84 Months experience maintaining and administering a multi-region CICS plex.
- 84 Months Experience performing problem diagnostics and resolution in a z/OS environment.
- 84 Months Experience fine tuning z/OS performance parameters.
- 84 Months experience analyzing z/OS abend dumps.
- 12 months experience with RACF security administration.
- 72 Months experience omegamon use.
- 24 Months Experience maintaining and operating MQ subsystems.
