Job Details

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Energy, Utility & Regulatory Associate Attorney to join our prestigious Legal team. This exciting opportunity will allow the successful candidate to work on a wide range of energy, utility, and regulatory matters, providing legal advice and representation to clients in the energy and utility sectors. This role involves a mix of regulatory proceedings, litigation, and transactional work, making it a diverse and challenging position.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a team of experienced attorneys and professionals in a fast‑paced, client‑focused environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide legal counsel and representation to clients in the energy and utility sectors on a variety of regulatory, litigation, and transactional matters.
  • Prepare and present cases in regulatory proceedings and litigation, including drafting pleadings, discovery, and briefs.
  • Conduct extensive legal research and analysis to support case preparation and strategy development.
  • Negotiate and draft contracts and other legal documents related to energy and utility transactions.
  • Advise clients on compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements and changes in law.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and professionals on multidisciplinary projects and teams.
  • Stay abreast of developments in energy, utility, and regulatory law and contribute to thought leadership in these areas.
  • Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the state bar and in good standing.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in energy, utility, and regulatory law, including regulatory proceedings and litigation.
  • Exceptional legal research and writing skills.
  • Strong negotiation and advocacy skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, regulatory agencies, and team members.
  • Detail‑oriented with strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Commitment to maintaining the highest level of professional ethics and integrity.
