Job Description

Will oversee day‑to‑day freight forwarding and logistics operations, including domestic freight, cross‑border shipments, customer communication, carrier management, and operational team leadership.

These two positions are highly hands‑on leadership roles requiring someone comfortable operating in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining strong customer responsiveness and operational execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily import and freight forwarding operations
  • Coordinate domestic and cross‑border freight shipments
  • Manage carrier/vendor relationships and operational performance
  • Lead and support operations staff
  • Handle customer communication, escalations, and issue resolution
  • Ensure highly responsive service on time‑sensitive freight
  • Manage routing, scheduling, dispatch, and shipment tracking
  • Improve operational processes and efficiencies
  • Work closely with leadership to support growth initiatives
  • Maintain strong service standards and customer satisfaction
Qualifications & Experience
  • Strong freight forwarding and logistics operations background
  • Experience with domestic freight operations (TL/LTL)
  • Cross‑border freight experience involving Canada and/or Mexico preferred
  • Leadership experience within transportation/logistics operations
  • Strong customer communication and problem‑solving abilities
  • Experience handling highly time‑sensitive freight operations
  • Strong carrier/vendor management skills
  • Experience with Cargo Wise or similar logistics/TMS platforms preferred
  • Comfortable operating in an entrepreneurial, fast‑paced environment
  • Strong ownership mentality and operational urgency
Must‑Have Requirements (Duplicate)
  • Domestic freight forwarding operations experience
  • Cross-border freight exposure (Canada/Mexico preferred)

  • Delegate or handle training of new personnel and their continued development.
  • Evaluate workload and operational efficiency of department.
  • Monitor quality standards and strive for continuous improvement.
  • Motivate and lead department.
  • Handle agent issues and problems.
  • Handle operation for certain high‑profile accounts.
  • Accompany Sales on Customer calls if needed for additional technical support.
  • Help to identify areas for corporate improvement to minimize interruptions.
  • Monitoring industry change and determine what kind of impact can be expected by ourselves/our customers and how to best deal with the situation.
  • Identify areas for increased Departmental/Corporate profitability.
