Operations Manager

ecoLong is a rapidly growing climate-tech startup focused on making buildings smarter, more efficient, and more grid-responsive. We partner with utilities, government agencies, and community organizations to deploy intelligent building controls, energy affordability solutions, and distributed energy resource (DER) technologies.

We are seeking an Operations Manager located in the Capital Region of New York to lead the execution of these programs and ensure strong coordination across partners and internal teams. This role is ideal for candidates interested in clean energy, smart buildings, program operations, customer coordination, and project management.

The Operations Manager will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of ecoLong’s programs and partnerships. This role translates program goals, requirements, and partner agreements into clear operational plans, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring programs are executed effectively and scale successfully.

• Lead operational execution of ecoLong’s programs, demonstrations, and partnership-driven initiatives
• Coordinate internal teams (engineering, product, field operations) and external stakeholders to meet program milestones
• Manage program timelines, deliverables, risks, and dependencies
• Serve as a primary point of contact for building owners, property managers, residents, and utility partners
• Support reporting, documentation, and compliance requirements for funded and partner-backed programs
• Drive standardization of program execution into repeatable, scalable program models

• B.S.,/M.S., in Business, Engineering, Environmental Science, Public Policy, or a related field
• Experience in program management, operations, or partnership-driven roles
• Strong cross-functional coordination and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to translate agreements, grants, or program goals into executable plans
• Excellent organizational, communication, and follow-through skills
• Comfort working in fast-moving, startup environments
• Familiarity with tools like Atlassian – Jira/Trello, Microsoft Business Suite - Sharepoint, Salesforce, etc.
• Interest in clean energy, smart buildings, or technology-enabled infrastructure (energy or utility experience a plus)
• Bonus:
  Experience with utility or municipal programs, contractor coordination, or building systems.
