Position: Janitorial Working Supervisor
Location: City of Albany

Position Summary

UG2 is looking for an experienced supervisor to lead a large team in the overall cleanliness of a large venue. The supervisor is responsible for planning, organizing, and developing the overall operation of the housekeeping department in accordance with federal, state, and local standards and guidelines, while assuring the highest degree of quality client care is always maintained. The supervisor will manage staffing, scheduling, and training of staff and will report to the account manager.

Must be flexible to work different shifts, weekends and holidays as needed. Shifts are consistent for the most part.

Responsibilities
  • Manage daily activities of the housekeeping department.
  • Plan, organize, and direct team members to ensure the highest degree of client and guest satisfaction.
  • Supervise the housekeeping staff.
  • Maintain housekeeping supplies and inventory in conjunction with the account manager.
  • Schedule and train new housekeeping staff members.
  • Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and conduct.
  • Apply knowledge of OSHA and safety standards within the housekeeping department.
  • Determine and maintain the department work schedule.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of all janitorial equipment.
  • Operate machinery for projects.
  • Cover schedule duties for absent team members or any other duties required.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience managing a team of housekeeping employees.
  • Two years of Environmental Services experience.
  • Ability to anticipate needs, change goals and direction quickly, and multitask.
  • Advanced knowledge of housekeeping processes and procedures.
  • Proven experience supervising housekeeping departments of 15+ employees.
  • Proven excellence in customer service.
  • Capable of using independent judgment/solid decision-making skills.
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of responsibility.
