Job Description:As a campus leader, the Chief Enrollment Officer will play a crucial role in recruiting and enrolling talented students from diverse populations. Additional key components of this dynamic role are collaborating across campus, creating innovative plans and services, mentoring, and supervising a talented enrollment management leadership team, and advocating for UAlbany with external stakeholders, making it an exciting opportunity for a visionary leader in higher education.
Enrollment Management at UAlbany sits within the Division of Student Affairs & Enrollment and of consists of several major functions, including undergraduate admissions (including enrollment marketing, admissions systems, and the welcome experience), registrar, financial aid, student accounts, transfer admissions, and undergraduate international admissions. The staff consists of approximately 70 full-time professionals, several part-time staff, and many student employees who work in both front-facing and administrative roles.
UAlbany's Division of Student Affairs & Enrollment provides students with inclusive, innovative, and impactful educational experiences to learn, lead and thrive today and throughout their lives. The Chief Enrollment Officer will also collaborate with UAlbany's strategic enrollment management council, which focuses on program demand, market trends, enrollment marketing, financial aid, undergraduate student enrollment, and student success.
Reporting to the University at Albany's Vice President for Student Affairs & Enrollment, the Chief Enrollment Officer will lead the University's core enrollment functions and help guide the next phase of the institution's enrollment strategy. Building upon recent enrollment successes, the Chief Enrollment Officer will work collaboratively with University leadership to strengthen the systems, structures, and resources necessary to sustain momentum and achieve the University's long-term enrollment objectives.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated proficiency in enrollment strategy, resource management, staff development and collaborative leadership. This individual is responsible for ensuring that the budget, planning, and operational functions, and services of the offices of Undergraduate Admissions, Registrar, Financial Aid, Student Accounts, Transfer Admissions, International Undergraduate Admissions and associated enrollment systems, work in concert to advance the University's strategic enrollment plan.
As a highly relational leader, the chief enrollment officer works closely with the vice provosts, deans, associate deans, department chairs and the broader faculty to facilitate student recruitment, retention, and graduation success. The chief enrollment officer will collaborate with Information Technology Services (ITS) to develop and implement appropriate technology and systems to ensure a coordinated enrollment management effort and cohesive, efficient, and effective service delivery.
They will also work in close collaboration with Communications and Marketing to deploy an effective marketing strategy that increases interest in the University and drives applications and deposits. Finally, the chief enrollment officer will partner with the Office of Institutional Research, Planning, and Effectiveness, fully utilizing their abilities in data management and analysis. The successful candidate must have the ability to work with and be sensitive to the educational needs of UAlbany's diverse student population.
In addition, the successful candidate will have proficiency in data analysis with a proven record of successfully using data-informed decision-making methods to achieve student success.
