Facilities Management within the Division of Finance &Administration supports three campuses spanning 515 acres and over
5.5 million gross square feet. The department is responsible for maintaining, constructing, renewing, and operating a safe,accessible, and sustainable physical environment aligned with the University's strategic mission.
The Associate Vice President (AVP) for Facilities provides strategic leadership and oversight for Facilities Management toprovide a safe, beautiful and functional environment at the University addition, the AVP supervises multipleoperational and planning departments, ensures high-qualityfacilities services, advances capital planning initiatives, andaligns facilities operations with institutional priorities and sustainability goals. The AVP supervises 6 directors and 35 units, which include over 500 employees, and an annual budget of approximately $140 million in Facilities Management.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Strategic Oversight
Provide strategic leadership and direction for the University'sfacilities management operations and long-range planning across acomplex, multi-campus environment. Oversee the development and implementation of the facilities master plan and capitalinitiatives, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities.
Direct operational effectiveness across facilities functions,including maintenance, construction, space management, and infrastructure renewal. Ensure effective financial stewardshipthrough oversight of operating and capital budgets, resource allocation, and cost management. Maintain compliance with applicable regulatory, safety, and environmental standards, as wellas SUNY and New York State requirements. - Leadership
Lead and manage direct reports/team providing guidance, support,and performance feedback to assure goals, programs, activities, and personnel practices are consistent with and contribute to the University's mission. Lead employees for maximum performance and dedication, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Complete performance management feedback and goals timely and per requirements, offering constructive feedback and developingimprovement plans. Oversee staffing models, workload distribution,and succession planning initiatives. - External Agency Relations and Capital Project Coordination
Serve as the University's primary liaison with external agencies and partners, including but not limited to the State University Construction Fund (SUCF), Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY), and the Office of General Services (OGS). Representthe University in planning, coordination, and approval processesrelated to capital projects, funding, regulatory compliance, and operational initiatives. Cultivate and maintain strongrelationships to ensure effective communication, alignment, and successful project execution. - Additional Responsibilities

- Demonstrated expertise in facilities management, including operations, maintenance, capital planning, and infrastructureoversight.
