Branch Manager – Heavy Equipment
Albany, New York About the Role
The Branch Manager is responsible for providing leadership, direction and support to the Parts & Service teams in alignment with company processes and objectives, implementing strong business practices that enable the branch to be successful in achieving its goals. They will oversee the day-to-day parts and service operations, and build/maintain strong relationships with customers and business partners throughout their region.
What You’ll Do- Lead the Parts & Service team through coaching, mentoring, goal‑setting, feedback, and performance reviews
- Work with HR to hire, onboard, and support new employees
- Collaborate with the Manager to set annual branch goals that drive business growth
- Evaluate market conditions and implement strategies to generate new business
- Track and report progress on goals to Management
- Review sales, expenses, and inventory to maintain profit and margin targets aligned with the AOP
- Use internal systems to analyze department metrics and make data‑driven decisions
- Oversee facility organization, maintenance, and capital‑expenditure recommendations
- Ensure facility and equipment maintenance meets safety and legislative requirements
- Promote and enforce health and safety compliance across the facility
- Communicate and negotiate with customers and suppliers, resolving escalated issues promptly
- Support customer satisfaction by ensuring a positive overall experience
- Base salary range: $90,000.00 to $ annually

Monday-Friday - occasional extended hours may be required based on operational needs.
Direct Reports: 4-8 reports
What You Bring- 5+ years managing service, parts, or branch operations in industrial or heavy‑equipment environments
- Proven P&L responsibility with a track record of meeting financial and operational targets
- Experience supervising Unionized employees and building high‑performing teams
- Skilled in MS Office (Word, Excel) and work‑order/inventory management systems
- Strong strategic, financial, and technical aptitude with the ability to create growth‑focused operating plans
- Effective at optimizing resources, managing priorities, and fostering a strong safety culture
- Exceptional communication, customer service, and relationship‑building abilities
- Able to collaborate across departments and travel as needed for business purposes
- Post-Secondary Diploma/Degree in Business Administration, Business Automotive or a related program OR equivalent professional experience
- Heavy Equipment Technician, Truck Mechanic or Diesel Mechanic Certification is considered an asset
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check
- Shop, yard, warehouse, and office settings. May include occasional lifting, walking in yard/shop environments, and outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
- Local travel to customer sites
- Periodic travel in US for training or industry events
- Some travel to Canada may be required for meetings
