About the Role

Lead complex, multidisciplinary semiconductor tool-install design projects, managing scope, schedule, budget, and cross-functional teams to deliver tool hook-up, commissioning, and client handover. Use engineering judgment and AI-enabled tools to mitigate risks, enforce EHS/cleanroom protocols, and drive continuous improvement across high-tech manufacturing projects.

Job Description Role

SSOE is hiring a Project Manager for its Tool Install design team to lead design-build tool installation and hook-up projects in high-tech semiconductor (fab) environments. The role focuses on ensuring alignment on scope, schedule, budget, and technical requirements while coordinating architects, engineers, trade contractors, and client tool owners.

SSOE provides access to industry-leading AI Large Language Models and vibe-coding platforms and trains staff to responsibly integrate these tools into project workflows to enhance productivity and streamline complex tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and manage scope, schedule, and budget for tool-install design packages.
  • Execute end-to-end tool install design projects from equipment specs and utility matrices through final hook-up, commissioning, and client handover.
  • Develop and maintain detailed tool-level installation schedules to meet “First Tool” and “Ready for Equipment” (RFE) milestones.
  • Serve as primary point of contact among design teams, trade contractors, and client tool owners to resolve space, utility routing, and POC issues.
  • Control project budgets and manage change orders related to tool configuration and long-lead procurement.
  • Enforce EHS standards and cleanroom protocols during installation activities.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to utility capacity, seismic bracing, and vibration isolation for sensitive equipment.
  • Follow established change management procedures and document authorizations for change orders.
  • Drive continuous improvement and capture lessons learned to optimize delivery methodologies.
  • Mentor and train other Project Managers on complex design challenges and best practices.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related technical discipline preferred).
  • 5+ years of project management experience in advanced technology or high-tech manufacturing facility design (semiconductor fabs, data centers, pharmaceutical manufacturing, etc.) preferred.
  • PMP certification highly desired.
  • Proficiency with project scheduling software (Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar); experience with resource loading and critical path analysis.
  • Demonstrated success managing cross-cultural, cross-time-zone teams and tailoring communication and governance to diverse audiences.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, presentation, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with root-cause identification and solution development.
  • Ability to perform field verifications and site walks in industrial/construction environments and access elevated areas as required.
  • Salary: $110,000 – $150,000 per year, commensurate with location, education, and experience.
  • Leadership bonus program and ownership investment opportunities.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance; employer-paid life insurance; wellness program support.
  • 401(k) plan with company match.
  • Professional development funding, PE licensure and certification exam support, and conference attendance support.
  • Generous paid time off (PTO) and paid holidays.
  • Flexible scheduling within project commitments.
Work Arrangement
  • Role indicated as hybrid (#LI-Hybrid) with flexible scheduling tied to project commitments.
