CNC Machinist

CNC Lathe Machinist

Experience: 1+ year

Pay Range: $55,000 – $80,000 per year

As a CNC Lathe Machinist, you’ll set up and operate CNC lathe machines to produce quality machined parts. You’ll work from blueprints and work orders, load materials, make adjustments as needed, and ensure parts meet specifications.

• Set up and operate CNC lathe machines
• Read and follow blueprints and work orders
• Program CNC lathes using G & M code (set offsets, zero points, and references)
• Load raw materials and prepare machines for production
• Install and adjust tooling such as chucks, collets, tools, and fixtures
• Measure and inspect first-run and sample parts to ensure accuracy
• Perform machining operations including turning, facing, threading, grooving, and drilling
• Make machine and tooling adjustments to maintain part quality
• Troubleshoot issues, replace worn tools, and adjust offsets as needed
• Follow quality and safety procedures
• Perform basic preventive maintenance and report machine issues
• Assist with other tasks as assigned

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 1 year of experience operating CNC lathes
• Technical school or CNC training is a plus
• Experience with Tsugami or similar CNC machines is a plus

• Basic G & M code programming
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools
• Good verbal communication skills
• Experience setting up tooling and machines
• Basic math skills (geometry and trigonometry preferred)
