Assistant Manager

Salary: $75,000–$87,000 per year
Responsibilities- Actively manage day‑to‑day plant activities, including planning production schedules and ensuring trucks are loaded.
- Assign tasks to the 8 direct reports and build a safe working environment, with safety as the top priority.
- Plan daily production to advance performance and efficiency while meeting customer expectations.
- Promote a strong safety and compliance culture, correcting unsafe acts or conditions without delay.
- Review reorder point levels and adjust as necessary.
- Champion adherence to company policies and safety regulations for all workers.
- Order parts and equipment essential for plant functionality.
- Support and coordinate a team of 8 contributors (5 fillers and 3 loaders).
- Communicate daily with the logistics manager on production issues or potential run‑outs.
- Train new workers and cross‑train employees to maintain production during personnel shortages.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required. College degree in Supply Chain, Operations, or Engineering preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a leadership role within manufacturing or distribution. Prior technical experience with compressed gases, gas analysis, or gas lab equipment is preferred.

Skills:
Knowledge of SAP (preferred), intermediate skill with Google Suite and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel). - Strong analytical skills and ability to leverage metrics to improve production efficiency.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and encourage open expression of ideas.
- Demonstrated proficiency in basic arithmetic and calculation of rates, ratios, and percentages.
- Self‑starter, well organized, able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail oriented with the ability to complete handwritten compliance documentation accurately.
- Remain stationary for extended periods; occasionally traverse office or manufacturing locations.
- Frequent use of computer and telephone. Observe and assess information received via computer.
- Occasionally lift up to 60 pounds and move more than 125 pounds with assistance from material handling equipment.
