Position Summary

The Filler & Seamer Technician is responsible for the setup, operation, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of high‑speed can filling and seaming equipment. This role is critical to maximizing production efficiency, minimizing downtime, and ensuring products consistently meet quality and food safety standards.

The ideal candidate is a hands‑on problem solver with experience maintaining beverage canning equipment in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up, adjust, troubleshoot, and maintain can fillers and seamers.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on production equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues quickly to minimize downtime.
  • Optimize filler and seamer performance to maximize uptime and efficiency.
  • Verify seam integrity and work with Quality to ensure all seam specifications are met.
  • Perform format and package size changeovers.
  • Support startup of new products and customer runs.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders.
  • Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Operations teams to improve equipment reliability.
  • Recommend and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain spare parts inventory and communicate replacement needs.
  • Follow all food safety, GMP, OSHA, and company safety requirements.
  • Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment as needed.
  • Participate in weekend and off‑shift maintenance when required.
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience maintaining high‑speed beverage filling and seaming equipment.
  • Experience in beverage, brewery, or food manufacturing.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and equipment manuals.
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to work overtime and occasional weekends.
