Job Description
Habitat for Humanity Capital District seeks a collaborative, strategic, and mission-driven Executive Director to lead the organization into its next chapter of impact. After more than a decade of stable executive leadership, Habitat Capital District enters this transition from a position of strength. The organization has built 185 homes for first-time home buyers and earned a reputation as a regional leader in sustainable affordable housing.
Working alongside an engaged Board of Directors and a dedicated staff, the next executive director will have the opportunity to build upon this strong foundation while helping the organization grow its impact in an increasingly complex affordable housing landscape.

ResponsibilitiesThe executive director provides leadership across strategy, people, finances, partnerships, and housing impact.
Primary Areas Of Leadership Include- Organizational strategy and Board partnership.
- Staff leadership, operations, and organizational culture.
- Financial stewardship, compliance, and risk management.
- Resource development, community partnerships, and external relations.
- Affordable housing development, homeowner services, and community impact.
We recognize that strong candidates may come from nonprofit leadership, affordable housing, community development, philanthropy, construction, public administration, or other mission-driven fields.

- Progressively responsible leadership experience in a nonprofit, public-sector, housing, community development, construction, or related setting.
- Demonstrated strength in organizational leadership, financial oversight, partnership-building, and communication.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant leadership experience preferred.
- Knowledge of affordable housing, real estate development, or community development.
This is a full-time, exempt salaried position, with occasional evenings and weekends as needed. We value work-life balance, and are committed to maintaining a flexible, supportive work environment and schedule, supported by generous PTO. A hybrid work arrangement is available for this position with up to two remote days per week and additional flexibility provided as needed.
Salary range: $100,000 - $120,000 per year
