The Clinical Nurse contributes to a compassionate and caring environment for patients, families, and colleagues through displays of kindness and active listening. Recognizes that each employee’s work is valuable and contributes to the success of the mission.
Responsibilities- Implement physician orders and administer medications.
- Start IVs, perform treatments, procedures, and special tests, and document all as required by policy and regulations.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients’ conditions.
- Assess and evaluate patient needs and responses to care rendered.
- Apply sound nursing judgment in patient‑care management decisions.
- Provide primary and emergency care for occupational and non‑occupational injuries and illnesses.
- Collaborate with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients.
- Direct and guide ancillary personnel while maintaining nursing standards.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate).
Must hold an active NYS Registered Nurse license. - Must maintain certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Minimum of 1–3 years of clinical RN experience in Med‑Surg or Progressive Care.
- Excellent communication, prioritization, organizational, and time‑management skills.
- Knowledge of quality concepts, principles, and problem‑solving tools with ability to apply them to departmental and patient‑care quality improvement.
This role may require access to sensitive information to Albany Med Health System, its patients, affiliates, and partners, including HIPAA‑protected health information and other information regulated by federal and New York State statutes.
