We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the Pediatrics Neonatology unit to provide advanced patient care, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment. The NP will collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to deliver family‑centered care, support case management, develop practice standards, and conduct research to enhance patient outcomes.
Responsibilities- Apply knowledge in anatomy, neurology, microbiology, physiology, psychology, pharmacology, gerontology, human growth and development, and medical terminology to assess and manage patient care.
- Conduct patient assessments, perform physical examinations, record vital signs, collect specimens, and prepare patients for tests, therapies, or treatments.
- Order and interpret medical laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging.
- Diagnose medical conditions and administer medications or treatments, including minor surgery.
- Maintain accurate patient coding for billing and detailed medical reports.
- Monitor inventory of medical supplies and instruments.
- Serve as a resource and team leader during clinical shifts to ensure smooth patient flow and discharge, including triage.
- Mentor new staff and/or physician assistant students.
- Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Certification in ACLS and BLS; ATLS and BCLS required upon hire.
- Licensed Nurse Practitioner upon hire.
- Proficient in electronic medical record systems and billing.
- Professional image and strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- HIPAA compliance at all times.
- Ability to quickly master a computerized medical recordkeeping and billing system.
