LPN - General Surgery

Job Overview

Full‑time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) needed for General Surgery, Trauma and Transplant practice team in Albany, NY. Working Monday‑Friday during day shift.

• Obtains and accurately records patients’ vital signs.
• Documents components of patients’ history.
• Communicates in an open and appropriate manner with patients, visitors and staff.
• Participates in in‑office procedures under the direction and supervision of a licensed healthcare provider.
• Performs diagnostic CLIA waived testing.
• Performs venipuncture to obtain blood for lab testing.
• Handles prescription call‑backs per scope of practice.
• Preps patients’ charts for pertinent clinical information.
• Maintains inventory of supplies and keeps patient examination rooms stocked.
• Adheres to AMC’s regulatory compliance issues.

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – NYS licensure.
• Previous experience in a patient care setting preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from physicians, patients and their family members or other employees.

• Standing, walking, sitting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, eye/hand/foot coordination – frequent or constant as described.
• Work conditions: extreme cold (rare), extreme heat (rare), humidity (rare), wet (rare), noise (constant), temperature change (frequent), atmospheric conditions (rare), vibration (rare).
