Nurse Practitioner, Clinical Nurse Specialist
The Department of Urology at Albany Medical College is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team. This role offers a focused opportunity to provide expert care for patients with Urologic Cancer while also supporting the broader urology practice.
Position Highlights- Full‑time, Monday–Friday schedule
- Clinic hours: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
- Upon completion of onboarding and training, four 10‑hour days may be available.
- Manage a population of patients with urologic cancer, including administration of cancer instillation treatments
- Conduct virtual and in‑person visits to review test results, discuss treatment options, and provide patient education
- Order and interpret additional diagnostic testing when indicated
- Collaborate closely with attending urologists, nursing staff, and administrative support to ensure high‑quality patient care
- Participate in the rotation for urgent urology add‑on visits (e.g., hematuria, elevated PSA, kidney stones, acute infections)
- Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic health record
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements
- License and active registration as a registered nurse/nurse practitioner or physician assistant in New York State
- Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Familiarity working in electronic medical records;
Epic experience is a plus - Effective collaboration across departments to ensure patient‑centered care and a positive work environment
- Understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements
