We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Nurse Practitioner to join a well-established, physician-led ophthalmology practice in the Albany, NY area. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a collaborative healthcare team dedicated to providing exceptional patient care.
Whether you already have ophthalmology experience or are looking to transition into this specialty, comprehensive training will be provided for specialized ophthalmic treatments.
Responsibilities- Perform comprehensive pre-operative history and physical examinations.
- Evaluate patients to ensure they are medically cleared for surgery.
- Provide post-operative assessments and follow-up care in collaboration with ophthalmologists.
- Conduct patient assessments, obtain medical histories, and perform physical examinations.
- Educate patients regarding treatment plans, eye health, disease prevention, and recovery expectations.
- Perform specialized ophthalmic procedures, including light therapy treatments (training provided).
- Monitor patient progress and coordinate care with physicians and clinical staff.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Ensure compliance with clinical guidelines, HIPAA regulations, and practice protocols.
- Deliver outstanding patient care while maintaining a positive patient experience.
- Active and unrestricted New York Nurse Practitioner license.
- Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing.
- National Nurse Practitioner certification.
- Clinical or hospital experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Strong clinical judgment and patient assessment skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to travel between multiple office locations.
- Ophthalmology experience.
- Experience with pre-operative and post-operative patient care.
- Knowledge of medical coding and billing procedures.
- $110,000 - $130,000 annually (DOE)
