RN - PCU

Registered Nurse - Progressive Critical Care Unit

The nurses in our Progressive Critical Care Unit care for some of the most medically delicate and surgically complex patients in our region. This position requires a focus on patients dealing with respiratory failure, sepsis, closed head injuries, multi-system organ dysfunction, endocrine disorders, complex traumas, and surgical complications.

• Provide competent care for medical and surgical populations.
• Administer advanced hemodynamics, including pressor usage per titration protocols.
• Manage antihypertensive drips, sedative and naloxone drips, and thrombo-embolytics.
• Utilize critical care equipment such as a CVP, EVD, and ortho traction.
• Follow infection prevention protocols and utilize high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), BiPap/Cpap, and oxypendent as necessary.
• Maintain a patient load averaging three high-acuity patients.

• Epic experience is required.
• ACLS certification is necessary.
• Experience in large-scale adult PCU and community hospital ICU preferred.

This is a night shift position from 7 PM to 7:30 AM, requiring a 36-hour work week across 48 hours per week available. Local candidates are not being accepted as of January 11, 2024.

This is a 13-week contract position.
