Travel RN - Med​/Surg

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Critical Care Float Pool night shift position requiring prior travel experience and Epic proficiency.

• Active NY RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA or RQI required
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in critical care required
• Level I trauma center experience preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Minimum 1 professional reference from a supervisor or manager (not a charge nurse), dated within the past year
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• Medical exemption required for flu declination (personal or religious exemptions not accepted)
• Must complete a competency test within 24 hours of consideration, sent via email

• Critical Care Float Pool position within a Progressive Critical Care Unit (PCCU)
• Must be comfortable caring for ICU patients across multiple units including neuro/trauma SICU, MICU, CPS/VICU, CCU, PCCU, and ICU/PCC patients in the ED and PACU awaiting bed placement
• Floating to a variety of ICUs required
• Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every weekend required
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• 48-hour per week scheduling available for interested candidates
• Provide critical care nursing support across multiple ICU and progressive care units as part of a float pool team
• Navy blue scrubs required
• No blocked scheduling permitted
• More than 3 call-outs within a 13-week assignment may result in contract termination, with make-up shifts required within 6 weeks
• RTO requests must be submitted at time of consideration
• First-time travel nurses are not eligible for this role
• Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility in Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, or Washington counties are not eligible
