Tester Level III Job Albany area,New York USA,Quality Assurance

Mandatory Qualifications:

Level III
- More than seven (7) years of experience working on complex projects with 2 or more years in a leadership role as a Tester

5+ years of experience in software quality assurance with strong experience testing Java-based applications, particularly Spring Boot microservices, understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems testing challenges, hands-on experience with API testing tools.

One to five years of experience executing SQL queries for data validation (PostgreSQL preferred); test automation frameworks, defect tracking and test management tools, Git version control. Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies, and excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Desirable Qualifications:

Experience with government or public sector projects, particularly child support or social services systems

Experience with performance/load testing tools

Familiarity with AWS services (ECS, RDS, SQS, Cloud Watch) and testing cloud-deployed applications

Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into build processes

Experience with contract testing for microservices

Knowledge of BDD frameworks; testing batch processing systems and scheduled jobs

Experience with accessibility testing; monitoring and log analysis for defect investigation (Cloud Watch, Splunk)

Understanding of security testing fundamentals (OWASP)

ISTQB or similar QA certification

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and execute test plans, cases, and scripts
Perform manual and automated testing
Conduct functional, regression, integration, end-to-end, and exploratory testing
Automate REST API and web application testing
Validate batch processing
Test system integrations and messaging
Identify, document, and track defects
Collaborate on requirements and acceptance criteria
Participate in Agile ceremonies
Perform SQL database validation
Conduct performance and load testing
Verify deployments across environments
Maintain automated test coverage and CI/CD quality gates
Review technical and functional documentation
Perform other duties as assigned
