The New York State Department of Health seeks a Research Scientist to support the Bureau of Early Intervention, which serves approximately 70,000 infants and toddlers with disabilities. The role involves data management, statistical analysis, program evaluation, and compliance reporting for an entitlement program with annual expenditures exceeding $650 million. The position will contribute to research in early childhood, manage data system integrity, conduct cost analyses, and support quality improvement initiatives.
Keyqualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, public health, or related field with 1-3 years professional research experience (depending on grade level)
- High proficiency in SAS programming, SQL, Excel, and Microsoft Office
- Experience with data management, statistical analysis, and epidemiologic research methods
- Ability to link public health program knowledge to epidemiologic methods and cost-benefit analyses
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and scientific writing skills
- Experience presenting research results to technical and non-technical audiences
