The Program Research Specialist 1 supports planning, research, analysis, and evaluation activities for the New York Office of Addiction Services and Supports Division of Planning, Research, Information Management, and Evaluation (PRIME). The role involves tracking state planning priorities, providing technical assistance to local government units, conducting literature searches, and using data visualization software to present substance use data. Candidates will serve a two-year traineeship leading to the permanent Program Research Specialist 1 position.
Keyqualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with 9+ semester credit hours in biostatistics, data analysis, economics, mathematics, research methods, or statistics plus 2 years professional research experience
- Experience with data manipulation, collection, and evaluation of quantitative data for analysis and presentation
- Excellent writing, grammatical, and organizational skills
- Ability to use data visualization software such as Tableau
- Master's degree in relevant field may substitute for one year of required experience
