Asset Protection Coordinator

Job Purpose and Summary

The Asset Protection Coordinator (APC) improves the retail customer experience and mitigates company losses to external theft in their assigned store. The role focuses on customer service and theft prevention rather than covert apprehension. The APC reports directly to the District Asset Protection Leader and collaborates with store leadership and specialized Asset Protection divisions, monitoring store activity and gathering threat information.

• Provides attentive and friendly customer service, greeting all customers, answering general questions, and assisting with opening and securing locked shelves and showcases on request.
• Moves throughout the assigned store(s) to monitor activity that could cause loss of CVS Pharmacy assets/products.
• Communicates observations to store management and seeks guidance when theft is suspected.
• Inspects high‑risk product categories regularly to detect and deter theft activity.
• Ensures the use of approved asset/product protection equipment and the security labeling program.
• Prepares external theft reports in the Auror system as incidents occur and monitors feeds to gather and share intelligence on known repeat offenders with key stakeholders.

• 60% – Provide customer service to prevent theft and reduce friction caused by product protection by unlocking and securing devices as needed.
• 30% – External theft reporting, reviewing potential links of habitual offenders in Auror System, and proactive intelligence sharing with DAPL, ORC Team, and Store Manager.
• 10% – Monitor store compliance with AP‑related programs that prevent external theft; take corrective action and report findings to DAPL and Store Leadership.

• Physical ability to stand, move, stoop, kneel, crouch, and grasp objects on lower shelves for most of the work period.
• Manual dexterity for applying security tags and using keys to open and close locks.
• Excellent observational skills and the ability to recall and describe detailed facts.
• Good visual and auditory skills, including reading small print on labels and tags.
• Strong customer service skills and the ability to engage and communicate well with customers.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with both Asset Protection and Store Leadership teams.
• Ability to prepare and submit external theft reports as needed.
• Work a flexible schedule that includes nights and weekends.
• High School Diploma or GED required; 1 to 3 years of relevant experience preferred.

Typical hourly range: $19.00 – $28.00. Actual offer will depend on experience, education, geography, and other factors.
