Job Summary
Oversees the frontline in the absence of the Front End Manager. Coaches, teaches and develops all frontline team members to ensure excellent member service and successful execution of membership programs and initiatives. Ensures all membership products are offered and member orders/requests are processed in a positive, timely, and efficient manner. Delegates work, monitors staffing, and ensures compliance with operational standards while providing excellent customer service to our members.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise the front line, including cashiers, SCO, and membership desk, when the Front End Manager is absent.
- Model excellent member service and coach team members to maintain high standards of service and membership metrics.
- Drive membership metrics through acquisition, retention, loyalty, and experience programs.
- Improve member engagement, speed, and productivity on the front end.
- Provide training, coaching, recognition, and performance feedback to frontline team members.
- Utilize cashier observation forms, productivity boards, and membership metrics reports to drive performance and member engagement.
- Perform front‑end duties including closing through the POS, handling escalated service issues, and acting as a backup for cashiers and Membership Sales Ambassadors when needed.
- Scan club merchandise through the POS system for accurate inventory and purchase totals; load shopping carts and manage self‑checkout lanes as required.
- Collect payments via cash, check, or other methods; issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change.
- Stay current on all merchandise promotions, advertisements, and product information; apply discounts and redeem coupons.
- Maintain cleanliness of front‑of‑club member servicing areas.
- Navigate within system applications and utilize the online task management system (MyWork) to manage workflow, track, and monitor daily club operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed.
- Maintain all club policies and procedures and ensure regular, predictable, full attendance.
- Prior leadership experience preferred.
- Prior membership or sales knowledge and experience preferred.
- Prior cashier experience preferred.
- Basic math skills required.
Most of the time is spent moving about frequently on hard surfaces. The job may require occasionally positioning oneself to examine or scan merchandise, including bending, handling, pulling, reaching, and/or stooping. Frequently requires lifting objects up to 30 pounds and may require lifting and moving heavy and/or awkward objects greater than 30 pounds with assistance. The work is located in a comfortable indoor area with infrequent exposure to temperature extremes and loud noises.
There may be occasional exposure to cleaning agents.
