Diesel​/Trailer Mechanic

This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement (CBA) between Quality Carriers and Teamsters local union 924. As such, terms and conditions of employment, including salary and benefits, are governed by the CBA.

• Weekly Pay: $25.50 - $30 per hour depending on experience
• Sign on Bonuses:
  Up to $4,500 Sign on Bonus for a HM Mechanic
• Tool/Boot Reimbursement Program

• Diagnose and repair tractors and trailers.
• Perform annual/systematic 90 day inspections of trailers as required.
• Ensure equipment meets Federal FHWA standards.
• Operate a yard hostler truck to move trailers within the facility yard and the shop as needed.
• Identify parts and supplies as needed.
• Adhere to all established safety (OSHA) and environmental policies and standards, including handling or disposal of hazardous waste.
• Clean, organize and maintain the work environment to ensure equipment longevity and workplace safety.
• Use welding equipment.

• At least 1 year of experience with general knowledge of equipment theory, principles and repair relating to diesel engines, air, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
• At least 1 year of experience with general knowledge of tractor and trailer maintenance, DOT rules and regulations, company policies and procedures.

• High school diploma, completion of G.E.D., or equivalent vocational school (preferred, not required).
• Dynamic, ambitious and engaged team player.
• Able to work Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. with possibility of overtime.
