Diesel Technician

Description

We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician / Mechanic to join our Distribution business in Albany, NY.

• Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
• Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
• Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
• Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
• Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
• Maintain own tools

• Completes complex internal engine repairs
• Performs engine overhauls unassisted
• Detailed understanding of the aftertreatment system and components
• Proficient experience with engine diagnostic software
• Applies documented procedures and policies to complete complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools. Disassembles, inspects, cleans and reassembles engines and/or engine components. Performs preventative maintenance based on assessment of engines. Assists more experienced technicians with diagnostics and development of repair plans engines in the workshop.
• A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire
• Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older
• A current valid license is required for this role
• Must be 18 years old with 2 years driving experience
• This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations

Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred). Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution, locally valid driving permit (Preferred). This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products.
