Job Description
This role involves assisting in the installation and support of heating solutions in semiconductor facilities. The technician will focus on installing heat trace material on process lines including vacuum pipes, exhaust, and gas lines, as well as tool installation for semiconductor equipment. The job requires handling equipment during installation, running wire, troubleshooting basic electrical issues, and installing insulation.
Responsibilities- Install silicone-based flexible tape as a heater on pipes using a candy cane stripe wrapping technique.
- Inspect the application of additional tape over trace material for insulation and wire up the pipes.
- Troubleshoot and start-up the installed product.
- Crawl into small spaces for installation and inspection.
- Ensure condensation is kept off the lines to prevent particulate build‑up.
- Troubleshooting skills.
- Experience in construction labor.
- Mechanical and electrical skills.
- Hands‑on experience with hand tools.
- Proficiency with heat trace and electrical components.
- Experience in HVAC maintenance.
- Ability to use a voltmeter.
Skills & Qualifications
- 1 year of technical related experience or mechanical equipment assembly.
- Electrical aptitude with installation or troubleshooting experience.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and lift up to 50 lbs.
- OSHA 10 certification.

Work EnvironmentThe technician will work Monday to Friday from 7:00am to 3:30pm, with a lunch break from 11:00am to 11:30am. The role involves working in industrial semiconductor facilities supporting microchip production, including sites in Albany, Malta, and possible overnight stays at locations in Syracuse and Vermont.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Albany, NY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
