About YouWe are looking for a candidate who has experience operating heavy construction equipment such as backhoe, skid‑steer, excavators, or loaders and is eager to learn the drilling and blasting industry.
Hourly Rate: $20 – $22 per hour, plus travel stipend.
Responsibilities- Follow job‑specific instructions from superintendents, blasting supervisors, or drill operators.
- Maintain safety awareness and work well in varying weather conditions.
- Travel out of town and perform overtime as required.
- Carry out daily maintenance for safe and efficient operation of assigned equipment.
- Adhere to company safety policies and procedures.
- Learn drill patterns and terminology and execute them under supervision.
- Inventory and manage accessories, monitoring costs.
- Communicate problems and terrain conditions to the blaster/foreman.
- Use the field accounting system to complete drill reports, hole sheets, and timecards.
- Demonstrate physical agility.
- Coordinate supplies with the blaster.
- Carry all tools and supplies.
- Participate in required meetings (foreman, safety, job‑specific, daily heads‑up).
- Complete Driller I training within the designated period.
- Work unsupervised while maintaining urgency.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Helpful operating experience with earth‑moving construction equipment, farm equipment, or timber‑harvesting equipment.
- Valid driver’s license and personal transportation.
- Experience as a construction laborer.
- Strong common sense regarding equipment and machinery operation.
- Mechanical aptitude with motors, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Successful passage of ATF screenings.
- Perform essential job functions.
- Lift 50–100 lbs.; 30–40% of the time.
- Work on uneven and loose surfaces in varying weather.
- Bend and stoop 30–40% of the time.
- Display physical agility.
