Elevator Service Technician
An experienced, self-motivated mechanic to join our maintenance team in New York.
About This PositionWe are looking for a service technician to join our maintenance and repair team. To be a good fit for us, you will need to have experience working on all types of elevators, hydraulic as well as traction ones, across a range of makes and models. You will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs as needed, and must be able to troubleshoot and solve problems quickly and efficiently.

- Perform preventative maintenance and repair on commercial and residential elevators
- Maintain inventory and spare parts
- Perform daily inspections on equipment, and document findings
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on all relevant elevator equipment, including monitoring systems and access systems
- Conduct annual building inspections
- Maintain paperwork and licenses
- Successfully complete repairs professionally and profitably
- Carry out repair and inspections of elevators, and related devices to ensure their effective and efficient operation in line with safety regulations and OSHA requirements
- Perform alteration tests to ensure the proper operation of safety devices during final inspections
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described (this is not an exhaustive list of all potential responsibilities and duties)
- 5+ years experience in elevator maintenance, repair, or installation
- Excellent knowledge of safety practices
- Ability to perform work safely, as well as to troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems
- Experience with both traction and hydraulic elevators
- Experience working with hand and electrical tools, hydraulics, wiring, plumbing, installing controllers, reading schematics, testing of elevators, elevator inspections a plus
- Certified Elevator Technician (CET) degree or Elevator Mechanic License a plus
- High School Diploma or equivalent
