Journey Electrician - Commercial Solar​/BESS Team Leader

Renua Energy, Inc. is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business based in Clifton Park, New York. Since 2018, we have focused on commercial and residential solar energy systems, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) installations throughout New York, New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut, and Massachusetts.

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Journey Electrician to join our growing team as a Commercial Solar / BESS Technician. This position is primarily focused on commercial and community solar projects throughout New York State, while also supporting residential solar, battery backup, and EV charging installations as needed.

Location: Clifton Park, NY (Albany, NY, Central NH, Central VT, or Syracuse, NY regional areas would be acceptable locations for employee to be based out)

Travel Requirement: Candidate must be willing to travel to regional job sites (Upstate NY, NH, CT, MA), including overnight stays, as required.

Job Type: Full-Time

Compensation:

• Prevailing Wage Projects:
  Approximately $65-$80+/hour (depending on county, work classification, and project requirements)
• Non-Prevailing Wage Work: $38-$48/hour (depending on experience and qualifications)

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required

• Licensed Journey (Journeyman) Electrician, or a minimum of 8-10 years of experience in the electrical trades and/or solar industry
• 3+ years solar industry experience required
• Extensive experience with commercial solar electrical systems and/or Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
• OSHA 10 Certification (must be completed before hiring)
• NFPA 70E certification
• Ability to read and interpret:
• Single-line drawings
• Electrical schematics
• Spec sheets
• Installation manuals

• 3+ years of commercial site work experience
• Excavator, skid steer, and/or telehandler operation experience
• Commercial EV charging station (EVSE) installation experience
• Progress toward Master Electrician licensure a plus

The Journey Electrician will work closely with team members, foremen, inspectors, customers, and company leadership to execute high-quality commercial solar, BESS, and EVSE installations.

This role requires strong communication skills, leadership qualities, flexibility, and a proactive mindset. Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while maintaining a high standard of workmanship and professionalism.

Participation in an apprenticeship program toward a Master Electrician license is strongly encouraged.
