This position supports the work of the Y, a leading charity committed to strengthening the community. Facilitators are the consistent, trusted adults young people interact with each week. This year‑round role leads the delivery of Achievers programming, coordinating assigned programs and events while creating engaging, supportive learning experiences that help youth thrive. Working directly with designated participant groups, Facilitators build meaningful relationships, keep sessions on track, and foster an environment where every young person feels seen, supported, and empowered to succeed.
The ideal candidate is an engaging communicator who is dependable, youth‑centered, and skilled at building positive relationships while managing program responsibilities with professionalism.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience (1–2 years experience in youth work).
- Prior experience coordinating programs, following a curriculum, and working with youth, teens, and adults is required.
- Be reliable and have strong attendance is required.
- Basic knowledge of computers with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) preferred.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills with the ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
- Part‑time hourly position – up to 25 hours per week.
- Monday–Friday, typically between 2 pm – 8 pm (may include occasional weekend hours).
Free single membership and paid sick leave.
Travel RequiredYes. Various high schools and/or Capital District YMCA branches.
