Program : Marillac Family Shelter - Homeless Services Program
Pay Range: $18.91 to 24.05
Schedule: This position requires working evenings, weekends, and/or holidays if needed. Can be subject to change based on program needs.
Notes: This is a driving position; a clean & valid NYS Driver's License is required

Position OverviewThe Resident Assistant serves to ensure a safe, secure, healthy, clean, and positive environment for families as they make their transition from homelessness through after care. This position assists families in service plan implementation by obtaining and providing feedback regarding their progress toward service plan goals. Maintains respect, support, care, and a family atmosphere for residents of the facility and fellow staff members.
Job Requirements- Clean & Valid New York State Driver’s License (actively licensed at least one year) is required*.
- Previous experience working in a human services agency is a plus!
- Formal Crisis Intervention Training (TCI) experience.
- CPR/First Aid Certification, or the ability to obtain within 90 days of hire date.
- Proficiency in computer applications:
Microsoft Office and Google Business Workspace Suites, and use secure Internet practices. - A kind, warm and caring mindset with the capacity of exhibiting empathy for those in need is a must!
- Capacity and openness to work with populations from culturally diverse and economically disadvantaged backgrounds, including but not limited to a broad range of people with various developmental and functional levels.
- Qualities of positivity, flexibility and adaptability; A professional record of integrity, reliability and dependability.
- Capable of exercising ethical, independent judgment and discretion, and handle sensitive data with strict confidentiality.
* Staff in driving positions must be able to meet agency’s minimum requirements of our insurance policy for authorized drivers; including, but not limited to the minimum age of 21 at time of hire.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include- Establish and maintain professional working relationships with residents as well as other Shelter staff, keeping appropriate personal boundaries in accordance with all agency policies, procedures and practices.
