We are seeking two experienced Lead Integration Developers to support the New York State Integrated Eligibility System (IES), a large-scale modernization initiative supporting critical Health and Human Services programs.
The primary focus of this role is analyzing existing mainframe interfaces and integrations and designing and developing modern .NET/C# integration solutions.
The environment includes batch processes, file transfers, APIs, asynchronous processing, and message queues supporting programs such as Medicaid, SNAP, Public Assistance, and Child Support.
The Lead Integration Developer will collaborate with technical leads, developers, testers, Business Analysts, and other stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable integration solutions.
Key ResponsibilitiesAnalyze existing mainframe interfaces and integrations.
Evaluate batch processes, file transfers, message queues, and asynchronous processes.
Design and develop legacy integrations into modern .NET/C# solutions.
Design, develop, test, and deploy RESTful and SOAP APIs.
Build reusable and consumable APIs for internal and external integrations.
Integrate systems and applications through APIs, managed file transfers, and queuing platforms.
Collaborate with developers, testers, Business Analysts, product teams, and technical leads.
Define and validate integration requirements.
Optimize application and integration performance.
Maintain security, reliability, and integrity of data exchanged between systems.
Create and maintain clear technical and integration documentation.
Support Agile/Scrum development and delivery activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Mandatory QualificationsCandidates must clearly demonstrate all mandatory qualifications.
More than seven years of experience working on complex projects, including at least two years in a leadership role as a Developer.
Integration Application Development
More than seven years of experience designing and developing integration applications, including:- APIs
- Batch processing
- Asynchronous processing
- Complex business logic
- High-profile or enterprise-scale projects
- Integration Experience
More than seven years of experience developing, troubleshooting, and optimizing integrations, including APIs, asynchronous processes, and batch processes.
Candidates must have strong working knowledge of mainframe integration patterns, including:
- Batch integrations
- File-based interfaces
- Message queue-based integrations
Candidates must also demonstrate experience designing and developing legacy/mainframe integrations into .NET-based solutions.
Desired Qualifications Preference will be given to candidates with:- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
- Seven or more years designing and developing integration solutions using .NET/C#.
- Seven or more years working with Service-Oriented Architecture.
- Strong experience developing secure SOAP and RESTful web services.
- Four or more years working with message queues, preferably IBM MQ, and/or Enterprise Service Bus technologies.
- Seven or more years using Entity Framework.
- Seven or more years using unit-testing frameworks such as xUnit or NUnit.
- Five or more years working with distributed version-control systems such as Git.
- Two or more years designing or implementing CI/CD pipelines and workflows.
- Two or more years working within Agile/Scrum delivery models.
- Two or more years supporting federal or state government environments.
- Health and Human Services experience.
