Truck Driver CDL A OTR

Position Overview

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Albany, NY. Weekly pay averages $1700 or more, with overtime and bonus opportunities.

• Solo miles pay: $0.59 per mile (2000–2500 miles per week)
• Van stops pay: $16.37 per stop plus $107.56 per dry‑van unload
• Average 8–10 stops per week
• Rolling stop pay: $28.20
• Safety bonus: $250 quarterly
• Loyalty bonus: $2000 at 6 months and $2000 at 1 year
• Paid training

• 80 hours PTO in first year (use it or get paid)

• Deliver solo loads from North Dakota to Texas, all states east of Texas, and Canada
• Tractor type:
  Sleepers with APUs
• Trailer types:
  Dry Van and Conestoga (preferred)
• Companion policy:

  Touch‑hand unloading required
• Freight types:

• Endorsements:
  Passport required within 90 days of hire

• Trucks 36 months or newer with 24/7 roadside maintenance
• Fueling at over 800 nationwide maintenance locations

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder drug test
• Pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check, including drug & alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Class A verifiable experience in a tractor‑trailer or comparable vehicle:
  • 9 months within the past 3 years
  • or 2 years within the last 5 years
  • or 5 years within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and agency rules, standards, and guidelines
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards; maintain accurate records and logs
• Load and unload freight or assist in loading/unloading as required by customers
• Perform other duties as assigned
