Position: Medical Delivery Driver (Latham, NY) (Own Van)
Location: City of Albany

About the Role

For this route, you will deliver surgical implant and instrument supply kits needed for orthopedic procedures to hospitals and surgery clinics in the assigned area. Once surgeries are complete, you will pick up the surgical kits and return them to the customer’s warehouse for sterilization and restock. You will make a difference in the lives of those individuals who are starting their journey to healing.

Attention to detail is extremely important as you will need to make sure that you are selecting the appropriate kit(s) from the warehouse that are assigned to you for delivery and ensuring that the kit(s) are complete upon pickup as well as making sure that all components of the kit are accounted for upon pickup. If the incorrect kits are delivered, this could cause delays in surgery.

Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) are critical for this route as time-sensitive deliveries are needed on occasion. As you will come in contact with many important people, maintaining a clean appearance and acting in a professional manner at all times is essential. Responsibilities
  • Operate a personal high‑roof cargo or sprinter van to pick up and deliver surgical implant and instrument kits needed for orthopedic surgeries to designated locations within scheduled time frames.
  • Ensure all deliveries are handled with care, maintaining the integrity and safety of medical products, including temperature‑sensitive items when applicable.
  • Verify delivery orders, obtain necessary signatures, and maintain accurate records of deliveries and pickups.
  • Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks to ensure the van is in a safe and reliable operating condition.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, managers, healthcare providers, and customers to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any issues promptly.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies to ensure safe and compliant transportation.
  • Report any delivery discrepancies, vehicle issues, or incidents immediately to management and/or dispatch.
Available Routes

This route will be a weekday route from morning to late afternoon/early evening. No weekends are required.

Payment Structure

Weekly settlements based on the route schedule range from $1200 to $1600 if you own your own cargo or sprinter van.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must own your own reliable cargo or sprinter van suitable for transporting surgical implant bins and instrument kits.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Must have a fully functioning smartphone.
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and safety protocols.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and communication skills (written and verbal).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in medical delivery services.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and handling of sensitive medical information.
  • Experience using GPS and route optimization software.
  • Ability to lift and carry packages up to 50 pounds safely.

Strong communication skills are essential for coordinating with healthcare providers and dispatch teams, ensuring clarity and efficiency in operations. Attention to detail is critical when verifying orders and handling sensitive medical products to prevent errors and maintain compliance with healthcare standards. Problem‑solving skills are frequently utilized to address unexpected challenges such as traffic delays or delivery discrepancies.

Additionally, basic mechanical skills help in performing routine vehicle maintenance checks, ensuring the van remains in optimal condition for safe transportation.
