Truck Driver CDL A OTR

Position Description

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Albany, NY. The role offers weekly pay and comprehensive benefits.

• Weekly pay $1700 or more per week.
• Solo Miles Pay: $0.59 per mile with  miles per week.
• Van Stops Pay: $16.37 per stop plus $107.56 per dry van unload.
• Rolling stop pay $28.20.
• Safety Bonus: $250 four times a year.
• Loyalty Bonus: $2000 at 6 months and $2000 at 1 year.
• Paid training.

• Home at least every other weekend.
• Must be able and willing to drive into Canada.
• Deliver SOLOTo:
  From North Dakota to Texas and all states east as well as Canada.
• Tractor Type:
  Sleepers with APUs.
• Trailer Type:
  Dry Van and Conestoga experience preferred.
• Companion Policy:
  Bring a person and/or pet on the road with you.
• Load Securement:
  Strapping.
• Freight:
  Touch-hand unloading required.
• Freight Type:
  Commercial and residential garage doors.
• Endorsements:
  Passport within 90 days of hire.

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards; maintain accurate records and logs.
• Load and unload freight or assist in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Minimum age 21 years.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
  • 9 months experience within the past 3 years, or
  • 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, or
  • 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years.
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.

Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.
