As a Transportation Coordinator, you will organize and supervise the daily operations of the agency's transportation services while ensuring safe and reliable transportation for students and clients attending services within the agency. You will report to the Chief Officer of Support Services and you will work onsite.
Responsibilities:
Plan and schedule daily driving schedules.
Knowledge of NYSED/NYSDOT/NYSDMV laws and regulations pertaining to school buses and CDL licenses.
To include but not limited to the assignment of vehicles to locations and programs, ensuring maintenance schedule is followed, and following up with programs to ensure proper installation of devices for tracking.
Train and evaluate assigned staff as well as agency CDL drivers by processing and testing staff as required by Article 19-A regulations and NYSED regulations.
Maintain accurate records of compliance with the above for all CDL drivers. Complete all paperwork and records as required by NYSDOT, NYSED, NYSDMV, and the agency
Maintain all agency school buses as NYSDOT, NYSDMV and NYSED require and keep accurate records.
Maintain all agency-owned vehicles on a daily basis, including regular service on vehicles, and follow a maintenance schedule.
Distribute assignments to meet Agency needs.
Correspond with various programs and departments regarding transportation needs.
Maintain involvement in the improvement of present programs to provide better service.
Train all new employees in departmental and agency procedures.
Keep current and organize 19A and SED files.
Coordinate driving routes and analysis routes to ensure the safest and most cost-effective.
On-call vehicle for emergencies at all times.
Requirements and
Education:
A High School Diploma or equivalent with one to two years of experience.
A valid CDL license with a Passenger and School Bus endorsement.
NYSDMV Article 19-A Certified Examiner preferred.
