Location: City of Albany
POSITION TITLE:
School Bus Driver
REPORTING TO:Director of Transportation
HOURS:6.0 hours per day (Monday - Friday)
CURRENTLOCATION:
Transportation Department, 2 Winston Place, Albany, NY 12205
START DATE:September 2026
SALARY & BENEFITS:$24.96per hour per CSEA Contract
RESPONSIBILITIES:Drives a school bus on an assigned route and may perform minor maintenance tasks in connection with such operation; does related work as required.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:- Good knowledge of driving safety practices and traffic laws and regulations;
- ability to operate a bus under difficult driving and road conditions;
- ability to make minor repairs to the vehicle;
- get along well with children and command their respect;
- mechanical aptitude;
- mental alertness;
- dependability;
- good physical condition.
Eligibility for the appropriate level New York State Driver License at the time of application. Possession of a license at the time of appointment. Drivers must be at least 21 years of age.
