Patient Transportation Driver & Facilities Support

Fusion Recovery Centers is seeking a dependable and professional Patient Transportation Driver to safely transport patients between our residential and outpatient treatment facilities. This position will also transport patients to our outpatient facility from other approved facilities and community locations.

When transportation services are not needed, the employee will assist with general facilities maintenance, cleaning, and janitorial duties. The ideal candidate is reliable, safety-conscious, respectful, and comfortable working with individuals receiving substance use disorder treatment.

• Safely transport patients between Fusion Recovery’s residential and outpatient facilities.

• Pick up and transport patients from approved facilities and community locations.

• Follow assigned transportation schedules and communicate delays or concerns promptly.

• Ensure patients enter and exit the vehicle safely.

• Maintain a professional, respectful, and supportive environment during transportation.

• Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.

• Keep company vehicles clean, fueled, and ready for use.

• Maintain accurate transportation, mileage, and vehicle inspection records.

• Protect patient privacy and comply with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and Fusion Recovery’s confidentiality policies.

• Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with patients.

• Assist with basic facilities maintenance, including minor repairs, furniture assembly, and general upkeep.

• Perform janitorial duties, including cleaning and disinfecting common areas, removing trash, and maintaining orderly facilities.

• Report safety hazards, facility concerns, vehicle incidents, and patient-related concerns to management.

• Complete other transportation, maintenance, and operational duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Active, valid, and unrestricted New York State driver’s license required.

• Clean and acceptable driving record required.

• Previous professional driving, patient transportation, or passenger transportation experience preferred.

• Experience with facilities maintenance or janitorial work preferred.

• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.

• Strong communication, time-management, and customer-service skills.

• Ability to interact professionally and compassionately with patients, staff, and community partners.

• Ability to work independently and respond appropriately to changing schedules.

• Must be dependable, punctual, and able to pass all required background checks and screenings.

• Ability to sit and drive for extended periods.

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform routine cleaning and maintenance tasks.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

• Ability to safely enter and exit company vehicles throughout the workday.
