About The Position

We are presently seeking to fill 2 Fleet Technician A (C Vacancy) positions at our Albany location, with a minimum starting pay rate of $37.81. Under direct supervision to perform ordinary types of repairs and maintenance work on equipment, such as adjusting and relining brakes, grinding valve seats, refacing and adjusting valves;

and to assist Fleet Technicians of a higher grade.

and to assist Fleet Technicians of a higher grade.

It is preferred that a qualified candidate for this position possesses the following:

• New York State Inspection License (heavy duty, light duty and emissions).
• Class A CDL License.
• A minimum of five (5) valid ASE certifications, including but not limited to T-1, T-2, T-4, T-5, T-8 or Equivalent

• Complete set of professional grade automotive repair tools.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license required with a safe driving history that meets National Grid’s Safe Driver policy
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Mechanics is required (heavy duty experience (trucks) and/or light duty).

As such, the Company’s testing programs and policies regarding the use of federally prohibited drugs or alcohol, for recreational or medical purposes, will remain in effect for these safety-sensitive, DOT covered positions. Many of the terms and conditions of employment for this position are defined by a collective bargaining agreement that the Company has with a local union. Newly hired employees are bound by the terms of the collective bargaining agreement as well as other agreements between the Company and the local union.
