Position Title:
[Work Study] Office Aide
Department: Student Life and Leadership
Location: Albany Campus, Albany, OR
Salary Grade: 10
Salary Rate: $15.13 per hour
Job Summary: This position performs a variety of administrative office duties.
Responsibilities:
- General receptionist and clerical duties, including telephone-direct calls and taking messages.
- Providing information resources and referrals for staff, students, and community members.
- Performing computer word processing, typing, and filing tasks.
- Working during typical office hours, 9 am to 4 pm, Monday through Friday.
- Possibly working remotely if the college limits in-person contact; in such cases, conducting student outreach, assisting with social media, and performing data entry.
- Using tools such as a multi-line phone, computer, copy machine, and poster maker.
- Occasionally lifting light to medium weight items, with or without assistance.
- Spending considerable time on a computer in an indoor, non‑traditional office environment that may be noisy and hectic.
Physical Requirements:
- May occasionally lift light to medium weight items, with or without assistance.
- Work performed indoors with no exposure to safety and health hazards.
- Considerable time spent working at a computer.
- Must be able to operate a computer and/or other office equipment.
- Environment may be loud and hectic at times.
Education and Experience:
- Must maintain enrollment in at least 6 credits at LBCC, maintain satisfactory academic progress throughout each term, and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better (some positions may require a higher GPA).
- Must have financial aid in place to be eligible to work in a Work Study student‑employee capacity at Linn‑Benton Community College.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Drive, and email.
- Ability to communicate professionally with a variety of people.
- Self‑motivated, able to work cooperatively and independently with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to interact sensitively and effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
