Job Summary Performs a wide range of complex and technical duties supporting the operations for the Corvallis Campus. Delivers campuslogistical, student and staff support. Providing excellent customer service and displaying exceptional problem solving skills.
* Weekly hours range from 12 to 19 per week.
Performs a variety of late afternoon and evening support at the Corvallis Campus including facilities, reception, event staffing,office, and general clerical support for staff, students, and thepublic. Provides regular on-site oversight for eveningclasses.
Essential Duties
Provides registration assistance and explains requiredprocesses to new students. Enters student enrollments into Banner.
Ensures students know their next step after enrollment. Responds to unexpected situations by assessing college resources for asolution.Provides welcoming and friendly environment that focuses onpositive interactions. Works directly with LBCC staff and facultyto ensure the academic needs of incoming students are met.
Maintains a friendly, empathetic and encouraging demeanor in orderto assist new students to navigate the registration process.Serves as first point of contact for providing information,answers, and referrals for all questions from incoming first-time students. Accurately informs students on details of their classes and trainings to ensure department meets onboardingobjectives.Uses available college information to guide students to appropriate courses and college resources during their time as astudent. Introduces students to available tools and information contained in Web Runner.Using knowledge of college processes, procedures, rules and regulations, problem-solve with students around challenges andbarriers.Performs various support services, activities and events at the Corvallis Campus. Maintains good communication to Corvallis Campusstaff, faculty, and students. Provides information about classes and programs to staff, students, and the general public.Checks facilities at the end of classes to ensure they aresecure and in proper order. Notifies appropriate college staff ofstudent discipline problems and situations which may affectsecurity, and takes action in accordance with college policy toprotect health and safety of people and property. Picks up and delivers supplies and printed materials for staff and students, andposts directional and information signs.Completes cashiering process using College processes for cash handling, posting, and reconciling.Provides support to Corvallis Campus Staff.Assists Corvallis Campus Coordinator with Facilities as needed.
Performs lite custodial duties as needed.Answers phones, greets visitors and provides information aboutcollege classes and services. Takes messages, explains policies and procedures, answers questions and handles routine problems and complaints. Contacts students about class changes and cancellationsas required. Refers significant problems to appropriatesupervisors.Accesses, updates, and maintains accurate enrollment and other records.Performs other related duties as assigned.Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Physical
Skills and Abilities
Learned physical skill is required to perform keyboardingfunctions. Must be able to use computer and other office equipment.
Requires ability to communicate effectively with staff and students in person and over the phone.
Working Conditions: Work is typically performed in an office setting with minimal exposure to safety or health hazards. Considerable time is spentworking at a computer.
Education and Experience - High school diploma or equivalent;
- Plus two years’ work experience related to education, student services, training, or career planning;
OR an equivalent combination of education and experience that enables full performance of all aspects of the position.
- Experience using a range of software and online resources related to college records is preferred.
