Job Summary:Works with Student Recruitment Specialists to provide campus visitsto prospective students. Conducts tours. Provides outreach and follows-up with prospective students.
Essential Duties:Working Conditions:
Requires the ability to operate computer and other office equipment. Requires ability to accurately process words and numbersin person, via Internet, and via the telephone, with or without accommodations. Ability to communicate in person and in front ofgroups including both English and Spanish speakers is preferred.
Requires the ability to move throughout campus, conducting tours,including climbing stairs with or without accommodation.
Work is performed in an office setting with minimal exposure tohealth or safety hazards. Conducting tours requires the employee tomove throughout campus, with some exposure to weather extremes.
Considerable time is spent working on a computer.
Position requires an AA/AS degree, plus one year of related clerical, customer service, or adult education experience, OR and equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Requires desire and commitment to work with students.
- Requires knowledge of general clerical practices and principles.
- Must be skilled in using personal computers, word processing,spreadsheet, database, and Internet applications.
- Must have well developed oral and written communication skillsand college level math skills.
- Requires public speaking skills.
- Requires the ability to independently carry out the duties ofthe position efficiently and effectively.
- Must be able to use word processing, spreadsheet, and Internet applications.
- Ability to communicate effectively both in English and Spanish one-on-one, over the phone, and in group settings preferred.
- Must have strong customer service skills.
- Must be able to work respectfully and inclusively with individuals of all cultures, backgrounds, perspectives,differences, and abilities.
- Prefer knowledge of procedures and processes in Admissions,Registration, and Student Affairs is preferred.
- General knowledge of LBCC instructional programs is preferred.

Compensation Information:
All Part-time Classified employees begin at Step 1 of the salary schedule, corresponding to the position’s grade. Placement at ahigher step on the salary schedule is not negotiable. Step increases are subject to eligibility, and only take place at theend of the Fiscal Year in July if approved and submitted by the employee’s supervisor of record. Hours worked in more than one position or department cannot be combined for step advancement.
Part-time Classified employees are paid once monthly, on the lastday of the month.
