Job Summary
Administers and analyzes all aspects of financial aid technical processes. Works in collaboration with key service areas to administer and analyze the functionality and operational efficiency of digital financial aid-related resources across the college. Reviews, tests, and assists with documentation and training of relevant components of the Ellucian Higher Education Banner student information system. Responsible for internal management and coordination of financial aid data and reporting.
Serves as the primary resource for generating the research and statistics necessary for financial aid and veterans assessment projects. Updates and maintains Banner records for yearly processing, loads Institutional Student Information Records, and initial process of student records, creates and maintains communication processes.
- Banner System Administration & Configuration (25%) – Supports maximized utilization of the Banner system in financial aid, veterans’ services, and related student services. Reviews documentation to recommend new features, resolves functionality issues, researches defects and enhancements, collaborates with Information Services for system upgrades, and establishes processes for federal, state, and institutional funds totaling up to $20 million.
- Technical Support, Troubleshooting & Process Documentation (25%) – Provides technical guidance and support, troubleshoots and resolves technical issues, develops data extracts and analytical reports, and offers strategic insight to improve system efficiency. Delivers training and functional guidance to departmental staff and develops comprehensive technical and process documentation.
- Reporting, Data Analytics & Decision Support (25%) – Coordinates with Information Services to develop and maintain ad‑hoc and scheduled reporting to support financial aid operations and compliance. Designs, develops, and maintains data reports to support institutional goals and translates complex financial aid data into actionable insights.
- Regulatory Compliance & System Alignment (10%) – Monitors and interprets changes to federal and state financial aid regulations, collaborates with the Director to implement updates, and ensures system alignment with current compliance requirements.
- Technology Innovation, Integration & Institutional Collaboration (10%) – Researches, evaluates, and recommends new technologies and third‑party services, collaborates with Information Services to develop institution‑specific functionality, and partners with staff to implement web‑based tools to enhance service delivery.
- Other duties as assigned (5%).
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Additional related experience may substitute on a year‑for‑year basis.
Experience: Equivalent of two years full‑time with progressive responsibility in financial aid (Title IV Programs), accounting or auditing, including work with federal programs, reporting requirements, and computerized general ledger systems.

Skills:
Knowledge of desktop and cloud applications, integrated database systems, college‑level writing, strong communication, ability to train end‑users, analytical skills, and ability to read documentation and regulations.
Abilities: Perform duties efficiently and independently, work effectively in a team, prioritize and plan work in a fast‑paced environment, communicate professionally with diverse staff, and respect individuals of all cultures and backgrounds.

Salary and BenefitsThe starting annual salary range is $64,819 – $87,697 for a 248‑day schedule.

Work is performed primarily in an office setting with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards. The incumbent manages a variety of projects simultaneously, experiences frequent interruptions, and requires occasional skill level upgrades. Considerable time is spent working on the computer, with infrequent lifting of medium to lightweight objects (less than 50 pounds).
