Job Summary
Enrollment Specialist 1 is responsible for supporting student enrollment and registration processes on the Corvallis Campus. The role involves providing excellent customer service, assisting students with registration, onboarding, and navigating academic resources. The Specialist coordinates with the Student Navigator and department staff to improve enrollment processes and ensures students receive accurate information about their classes and training schedules.
Essential Duties- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of work experience related to education, student services, training, or career planning.
- Experience using a range of software and online resources related to college records is preferred.
- Experience using BANNER is preferred.
- Experience providing assistance with individualized student scheduling and/or retention at a community college is preferred.
- Working knowledge of instructional practices and techniques to develop academic plans.
- Computing skills to use application software and online resources.
- Commitment to work with students of diverse educational and cultural backgrounds and varying levels of ability.
- Strong planning, organizing, and prioritizing skills.
- Ability to independently perform essential duties of the position.
- Understanding and interpreting faculty instructions to assist students.
- Maintaining confidentiality.
- Adjusting to changing environments and applying standards fairly.
- Organizing, planning, and prioritizing duties to meet schedules and timelines.
- Understanding diverse student learning needs and responding appropriately.
- Operating general office equipment, including computers with word processing.
- Respectful interaction with individuals of all cultures, backgrounds, perspectives, and abilities.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
Requires keyboarding functions, use of computer and office equipment, and effective communication with staff and students in person and over the phone. Work is typically performed in an office setting with minimal exposure to safety or health hazards.
Employment Requirements- Criminal Background Check - C4.
Part‑time Classified employees begin at Step 1 of the salary schedule, corresponding to the position’s grade. Placement at a higher step on the salary schedule is not negotiable. Step increases are subject to eligibility and only take place at the end of the Fiscal Year in July if approved. Hours worked in more than one position or department cannot be combined for step advancement.
Part‑time Classified employees are paid once monthly on the last day of the month.
